Volunteer with the West Athletic Boosters
Sport Liaison
Each team has a Liaison who represents their sport. Liaisons sit on the West Athletic Boosters Board so that each sport has a voice in the affairs of West Athletic Boosters.
Some of the responsibilities include: sharing details about West Athletic Boosters at the pre-season sport meeting(s); encouraging parents/guardians to make a donation to West Athletic Boosters ("Become a Member"); serving on one West Athletic Boosters Committee; and sharing information with all levels of the sport (freshman, JV, varsity) about West Athletic Boosters events and activities.
Time commitment is 1-2 hours per month YEAR ROUND, which includes attending 5-6 MWABA meetings.
Executive Committee (EC)
The Executive Committee (EC) includes the elected officers (President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary) and the chairs of the standing committees (Concessions, Marketing-Special Events, Marketing-Communications, Liaison Coordinator and Fundraising).
The EC is responsible for day to day management of West Athletic Boosters operations and approving funding requests that are sent to the Full Board for vote. This group meets monthly throughout the school year. Hourly commitment varies by position from 2-20 hrs per month.
NOTE: EC volunteer positions are YEAR ROUND and require a 2 year minimum commitment.
Events / Fundraising
West Athletic Boosters has hosted a variety of events over the years to raise money to support West Athletics - which have included smaller (ex. Restaurant Nights) and larger events (ex. Rally for Regents, Regent Open Golf Outing). West Athletic Boosters needs parents to not only volunteer their time the day of the event to work, but also parents who will coordinate and plan these events.
Small Event Coordinator(s) (could also serve on EC as Fundraising Coordinator): Schedule Restaurant nights throughout the school year (typically 5-8 events each year). Time commitment: 2-5 hours per month YEAR ROUND.
Large Event Coordinator(s) (could also serve on EC as Fundraising Coordinator): Plan, manage, organize a single or multiple large events during the year. This may include items such as: finding sponsors, getting donations for a silent auction, reserving space(s), coordinating volunteers, etc. Time commitment is 10-20 hours per month usually for 2-3 months prior to the event, until 1-2 weeks after the event.
Event Volunteer(s): Volunteer to work at an event during the year.
